One of our most eagerly awaited seedlings since its maiden bloom and NO WONDER! This twisting yellow bloom is so engulfed with sharks teeth and lace that it is the definitive fringed daylily of this type. Nothing else even comes close. This stunning 7" beauty stood alone in a bed of 82 sibs from the cross of (FORESTLAKE RAGAMUFFIN X T. SPINDAZZLE). Nearly every seedling in this cross had lace and fringe, but almost all were overlaid in shades of bronze, only REAP THE WHIRLWIND was this shimmering pure yellow color, and it also stood out by virtue of its incredible fringed edge. REAP THE WHIRLWIND is simply bristling with 1/2" yellow lace and fringe. It was nicknamed YELLOW HAIR and the garden name stuck, but alas was rejected by the registration committee. A little too short and mostly top-branched with a bud count of 30 or more, Potent pollen; pods require persistence. Not pod-sterile, but very difficult. STUNNING and possibly the most dramatic fringed daylily available to date. Proving an incomparable a parent for huge fringed edges and Jamie Gossard has bloomed a seedling from borrowed pollen that is over half edge!
