A gorgeous 5" gold-edged lavender which stand apart from so many others in this crowded class by virtue of its extremely clear coloration and tall stately plant. These crystal clear blooms are done in a rich shade of lilac-purple and crowned with a very uniform and symmetrical 1/2" edge of brightest gold. An altogether wonderful color combination and it was so striking in the first year bed of 44 siblings that it was saved despite being one of the 2 smallest plants in the cross. Once it was moved from the first year bed, PAINTED VEIL quickly grew into a large beautifully proportioned plant replete with 4-way branching and a bud count of 25-30. The big gaudy edge never hangs and is a combination of braids and big sharks teeth. Where the teeth come from I am not sure, but PAINTED VEIL is being used heavily here as it is one of a kind. Consistently re-blooms here and fertile both ways though a difficult pod parent in full sun. VERY LIMITED; ONLY AVAILABLE WITH THE COLLECTION.
