magnificent pink frisbee

This perfectly circular, beautifully ruffled 6" rose pink was given the garden name "PINK PLATE" and it stuck. MAGNIFICENT PINK FRISBEE is a full sib to our 2007 introduction MAGNIFICENT ROSE, and though very different in color and form, is equally spectacular. Depending on the day, the year and the season, I find myself going back and forth between MAGNIFICENT PINK FRISBEE and CELESTIAL SPLENDOR trying to decide which one is my favorite. These 6" beauties are 2 of my very best pinks, and they both raise the bar in the quest for the ultimate pink tetraploid. MAGNIFICENT PINK FRISBEE is much like a taller, rounder and more color saturated version of OH GREAT ONE. I'd prefer better scapes and a dormant plant, but with 18 buds and widespread top-branched scapes, this is a showstopper in clump and was one of the most asked about pinks for the past 3 years. Intoxicating fragrance, and fertile both ways, but a difficult pod-parent in full sun. MAGNIFICENT PINK FRISBEE is proving a tremendous parent for big lavishly ruffled blooms in all shades of pink, from baby ribbon pink through deepest rose. We are still using it heavily in our program.
