KINGDOM OF HEAVEN (Benz)
tet 32" M. Dor (Forestlake Ragamuffin X Tet. Siloam Ralph Henry)
At a full 6 inches in size, with 3 1/2"-3 3/4" petals and a huge bubbling braided edge of brightest gold, few pastels can match this showy titan for sheer impact. KINGDOM OF HEAVEN is a grand melding of its illustrious parents and exhibits none of the problems that plague so many of the new gold-edged varieties. Plants are big and healthy with arching blue-green DORMANT foliage. Scapes are straight, strong and TALL, with 3 lateral branches and a terminal cluster, giving a grand total of 25 buds. With scapes that reach 32" in height, KINGDOM OF HEAVEN blooms head and shoulders above most gold-edged varieties. The big gaudy gold edge is not weather related and often bubbles out to over an inch in diameter, occasionally forming dramatic sharks teeth all around. Fragrant and an easy parent both ways.  Kids blooming here in 2007 were the most spectacular gold-edged pastels we have ever seen and one 6" bloom was encrusted with twisting gold sharks teeth almost an inch long! Re-blooms here in zone 6.
