TWILIGHT EMPIRE

(Benz) tet 38" M. Dor. (Dark Empire x Lavender Nocturne) This smoky ethereal blend of purple pink and charcoal, surpasses parent DARK EMPIRE in many, but not all respects. Blooms are even heavier and more like plastic, and lavish ruffling unfurls from the throat and encircles these 5" blossoms. Foliage is equally huge and carries the same beautiful arc and deep blue-green color. Scape is arguably thicker and better branched than DARK EMPIRE, and that is a big boast indeed! We've seen bud-count as high as 55 on a well-grown plant and borne on 4-5 evenly spaced laterals. Some will prefer the deeper color of its parent, and we like the sepals on DARK EMPIRE better, but those are minutia, and we are sold out of DARK EMPIRE for at least 2 more years. If we could pick just one of the 2 as a pollen-parent, it would be TWILIGHT EMPIRE, no contest. Fertile both ways, but pods are difficult. SOLD OUT
