WHITE BRAID
(Benz) tet 34" M. Dor. (Tet. Super Purple x Angel's Smile) X (Glittering Elegance x Angel's Smile) In the original cross that produced PINK WAVES, BAND OF GYPSIES, and BEYOND 2000, the tiniest runt plant had far and away the most beautiful bloom and the heaviest braided edge in the entire crop-and only 4 buds. It quickly became known by the garden name WHITE BRAID. Although it never grew into a big vigorous plant, it did improve, and remarkably, we bloomed gorgeous seedlings no matter what we crossed it to. WHITE BRAID is the end result of just 3 seeds from a cross of WB with a murky, but heavily fringed sib to ROYAL GYPSY and MIDNIGHT DAZZLE. In this cultivar, we have captured all the beauty and panache of the parents, with none of the flaws. A full 5" bloom, this shimmering pastel apple-blossom pink with its radiating soft green throat is larger, more refined and has an even more dramatic edge. In fact, as the nights warm up, the gold edge grows far larger than the early season bloom pictured here. Always flat-open, regardless of cold nights. Plants are medium large, and of moderately good vigor. Scapes are straight, strong, and well-branched, with 3 laterals, and about 28 buds. Add fragrance and realm and you have it-a total package. Always perfect, regardless of weather and 100° heat only serves to intensify the pink and gold color combination. Pollen is very fertile; pods are difficult. A personal favorite.  $150.00
