![]() FANG AND CLAW (Benz)
tet 38" M. Dor. (Forestlake Ragamuffin X Tet. Spindazzle) What a cross! When the 82 sibs from the cross of (FORESTLAKE RAGAMUFFIN X TETRA SPIN-DAZZLE) bloomed, I flagged nearly half of them. Overall quality was so high, I refused to move them and planted the new seedlings around them. Although nearly every seedling in this cross had lace and fringe, only FANG AND CLAW had this dramatic shark's tooth edge. This 6 1/2" bronze bi-tone is simply engulfed in 1/2" golden-yellow lace and teeth. When Suzanne Karl saw FANG AND CLAW in the seedling bed, she said, "You should name this one "JAMIE'S DROOLER," - when Jamie Gossard sees it, he's gonna drool! And the name stuck. This one has the best branching of the sibs, with 3-4 lateral branches and a terminal cluster, and a bud count of 30 or more, and is the most reliable re-bloomer as well. Incredibly potent pollen; pods require persistence. Not pod-sterile, but very difficult. The awesome jagged saw-tooth edge is, of course the major feature of this daylily, and I have seen these big gold teeth jut three-quarters of an inch off the petals of these blooms. Best of all, FANG AND CLAW is bestowing these impressive shark's teeth in a wide array of colors. FALL ONLY $250.00
