BRISTLING FURY bloomed in a 16-oz. Styrofoam cup as a nine-month old seedling. I was startled to see this little flower with its huge gold-fringed edge and could hardly wait to see the 27 siblings bloom the following year. In the meantime I hurried to repeat the cross. Long story short‹there were no othersŠnot like this one. There were a lot of pretty blooms and most had fringe and lace, but on a good day the 14k gold edge on BRISTLING FURY expands all the way across the petal, only stopping at the midrib, until flowers appear solid glistening gold with thin peach colored midribs. Add a bristling gold filigree done in 1/2" jagged lace and fringe and you have one dramatic bloom. Plants are medium large in size and are blue-green true DORMANT. Branching is superb, with 3-4 laterals displaying blooms at graduated intervals and despite a bud-count as high as 40, blooms never crowd. Fragrance and rebloom are nice, but the main feature of this daylily is its incredible god edge. Easy parent both ways and heavily used here. COLLECTION ONLY
