This beautiful 6 1/2" rose-pink with its huge glowing green throat gives testimony to the superiority of the blue-green Northern Dormant! Initially selected about 5 years ago as best flower and plant resulting from using our PHENOMENON in a quest for giant pinks, she lay neglected in a pot for 3 open winters as the tag was lost and identity was uncertain. As I dumped it out of a 3-gallon pot with only about an inch of remaining topsoil, the tag fell outŠ.and I re-potted this ultra-tough plant with some fresh soil and a little fertilizer. I couldn't believe how fast this vigorous beauty grew into a full-sized clump, and in 2007, it was one of the most asked about daylilies in the garden. Last summer, blooms were 6 1/2"-7" and scapes were 30" tall with 4-way branching and 28 buds. And then it re-bloomed. Difficult pod-parent, but easy pollen and surpasses both parents on just about every count. Has a larger deeper green throat that EMERALD GLOW, and takes flower size and scape from PHENOMENON, but blooms are heavier, flatter, and more ruffled.
