Most are deep rose to mauve. AEON FLUX is a true saturated blood red with a beautifully piecrust ruffled edge that appears to have been dipped in white paint. The white edge is seen on sepals as well. This 5" beauty boasts heavy, waxlike substance and perfectly circular form, with sepals almost as wide as the petals. From a fortuitous cross of our widest petaled, heavily ruffled pink, and one of our most color saturated and sunfast reds comes this breakthrough plant. Over a 4 year period I bloomed a long run of sibs and half sibs and there were no others with either the clarity of color or the snow-white filigree border. Plants are big and vigorous, with large arching foliage, and ramrod strong scapes with 4-way branching; better than either parent. Fragrant and fertile both ways.
